Hold your breath
Dafrin, a Bajau freediver, hunts for his family's dinner using a traditional homemade speargun in a remote archipelago in Indonesia's Gulf of Tomini. The Bajau, who are sometimes referred to as sea-nomads, are famed for their unique bond with the ocean and for their ability to dive to great depths on a single breath while they hunt. For centuries they lived aboard their boats, roving the seas of the coral triangle, but today, most have settled in stilt villages, and their free diving skills are becoming rarer. Dafrin is one of just a few in his village who still possess the ability to dive like his ancestors used to. With little more than his homemade wooden goggles and speargun, her is able to dive to great depths and stay underwater for several minutes at a time.
