Zanzibar sponge harvest

Sponge farmers tend to their crop in the warm, clear waters off the east coast of Zanzibar. Faced with declining fish stocks in the area, a pioneering group of local residents have turned to sponge farming as a more sustainable way to derive an income from the sea.
